It was held this Monday, in the Extractions Room of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia of Lisbon, the award ceremony of the Santa Casa Games Education Scholarships | IMPULSO Program.

The IMPULSO Program, which results from the collaboration between the Santa Casa Games, the Paralympic Committee of Portugal, the Olympic Committee of Portugal and, from this edition, also the Academic Federation of University Sports, this year awarded 111 scholarships to Paralympic and Deaf athletes (11), Olympians (57) and university students (43), for a total investment of 244,500 euros.

This edition follows the preparation cycles until the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the Athens 2029 Deaflympics and, in the university context, the 2027 World University Games and the 2028 World University Championships.

The Santa Casa Games Education Scholarships aim to encourage and support Paralympic athletes and Paralympic and deaf Olympic hopes, Olympic athletes and Olympic hopes, as well as university athletes, creating conditions so that they can reconcile the requirement of high performance with their academic training.
