"Self-representation: The Forbidden Fruit (which is not desirable)".
Updated: 12/10/2026
Are we ready to listen to everyone?
It is from this question that, in the next 23 October, ARCIL will promote the meeting "Self-representation: The Forbidden Fruit (which is not desirable)", an initiative promoted by GARCIL (Group of Self-Representatives of ARCIL) that invites reflection, dialogue and sharing of experiences on the effective participation of persons with disabilities in decisions that impact their lives.
Throughout the day, self-representatives, professionals and organisations will discuss challenges, best practices and paths to a more inclusive society where all voices are truly heard.
The program will feature particularly enriching moments, including the workshop "Everything I needed to know about self-representation and no one told me", powered by Sandra Marques (Inclusion Europe), and a moderate gathering by Claudia Brandão (IDiPD), bringing together inspiring experiences from APPACDM Coimbra (Draft Participate to Change), of the Federation of APPCs (Draft Vote4All), of the Innovating Autism (Citizenship Club - Right to have Rights) and the Portuguese Institute of Aphasia, with the testimony of Francisco Branco.
